Honestly weddings scare the hell out of me.
I am not sure which part is actually scary whether its the dressing up , good food or the guests.
I thing every thing is scary.
Dressing up for some ones wedding cermony is boring and time consuming and frustrating at times,
10 million people give you different ideas and advice on how to dress up, starting with the person whose wedding it is,
ex: my friends wedding,my friend then her parents my family and the list goes on no mater what you wear you end up looking the way you never wanted to look.
then especially when you are not girly its even worse you have no clue about the make up or how to keep it on your face without messing it up for a long time same with the dress,
then jewellery Oh! boy they tell you the name of the jewellery that matches the dress,
the problem is I have never heard of it
and when I give a surprised look every body giggles
Giggling should be banned.
Relatives:
Then the questions like:
- Hasn't she grown tall?
A: Actually from last two years the height has remained the same.
And I met the person a month ago.
2. She doesn't look like either of you?(to my mom)
Well you see I fell from the sky or god dropped me as a baby from heaven(ridiculous)
3.Then what does she do?
That is one question ever single person asks till I want to kick myself.
4. Then one lady pops out from the blue and says she looks so strange
not exactly maharashtrian or bengali is she your daughter.( on that wow !)
My reply: Of course not r u kidding me? i am E.T. Havent you seen SPIELBERG movies ever?
5.I saw her when she was a baby and she looks different doesn't she?
Of course after 22 years i am going to look different.
6.And then some old great grand father comes to you and says who r u?and when u tell him he goes on and verifies it with one of the family members continues to look at you suspiciously.(that's not the funniest part the funniest part is one your relatives telling him you are your mum's sister's daughter. life just couldn't get better.)
Last one your daughter is of marriageable age has she found some one?(98%women ask that)
To them this is what i want to say:
Of course he standanding outside when you all are busy with the akshata throwing I am gonna elope with him(just kidding)
Food:
Everybody stares at you like an alien and again gives 1 million suggestions on what to eat how to eat how much quantity of each item should be consumed.
I have nothing against weddings it just they keep on getting weirder and weirder every passing moment. honestly i feel the bride and the groom and may be there families only enjoy the wedding.
this was all about wedding in my relatives and family the saga continues..............
Finally if I go to a wedding its because I care and love that person and my presence means a lot to that person and thats what matters doesn't it?
